Nice to meet you! My name is Anchit JV Rao. I’m an Analytics Engineer specialized in building ETL/ELT pipelines with AI integration to improve workflows.
What I’ve Done So Far
I’ve spent about six years building data infrastructure. At Western Digital I owned 30+ Airflow DAGs pulling sales, inventory, and executive reporting out of four source systems and 100K+ rows a day, and I was the sole on-call for the whole fleet. That work replaced roughly 30 hours a week of manual ad-hoc requests with scheduled delivery.
The project I still talk about was a multilingual ingestion pipeline that processed 10,000+ customer forum posts every 48 hours across five languages. It translated them, classified issues, scored sentiment, and routed cases to the right regional support teams, which cut manual triage time by 60%. I also built a pandas CLI suite so a 34-person logistics team could query production data without waiting on an engineer. About 80% of them were using it by the time I left.
These days I’m a Data and Analytics Consultant at Uday Shukla Corp., working out where LLMs fit into a workflow and how they can help small and medium-sized businesses save time and scale up.
The pattern across all of it is that I keep ending up where data infrastructure meets whatever the newest tooling is. Right now that’s AI, which is why I’m putting real study into it.
What I’m Learning
I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning. The shift AI has brought to software engineering is hard to overstate. With the rise of “vibe-coding,” people with barely any technical background can now point a coding harness like Claude Code at a problem and get working software out the other end.
Which is exactly why I think depth matters more now than ever before. When the floor rises, what separates real engineering from generated code is having a firm grasp on what’s happening underneath a flashy UI. In analytics and data engineering especially, that understanding is what turns AI from a neat demo into something that genuinely changes how decisions get made across an organization.
So I’ve started working through AI Engineering from Scratch, a curriculum covering the specialized side of the field and the techniques pushing the frontier forward. I’ll be posting monthly on what I’ve covered, what clicked, what didn’t, and where I think it’s all heading. Should be a good time, so look forward to it!
